About the Company Minderoo Station is a 225,000ha lease on the Ashburton River in Western Australia's Pilbara region. Together with the adjoining Urala, Uaroo and Nanutarra leases, it forms the 760,000ha Minderoo aggregation – one of the flagship pastoral businesses of Harvest Road Agribusiness, part of the Forrest family's Tattarang Group. The aggregation runs a breeding, backgrounding and multiplier cattle herd operation, produces its own fodder hay, and is home to an established horse breeding program.
About the role
Reporting directly to the General Manager – Extensive Agribusiness, the Station Manager will lead a team of around 20 people across all aspects of cattle station and livestock operations – from herd performance and rangeland management to capital projects and budgets.
Main Responsibilities
(must be demonstrated in your application letter/resume)
- Lead and develop a high-performing station team, fostering a strong and positive culture with safety at front of mind
- Manage livestock in line with Harvest Road's animal welfare objectives
- Consider the vertically integrated supply chain in management of the operation, to deliver the best outcome for Harvest Road overall
- Prepare and manage station budgets, forecasts and capital projects
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders,
guests and the broader Harvest Road business
- You'll bring substantial leadership experience in Australia's Northern Pastoral industry, strong business acumen as a proven all-round operator, and a genuine background in horses. An HR/MC licence and formal qualifications are well regarded but not required from day one.
Education / Experience / Skills You'll bring a genuine passion for pastoral life, strong stockmanship and people skills, and a positive, community-minded approach to leadership. You'll be well presented, comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders, and excited by the opportunity to make a lasting mark on one of WA's great pastoral aggregations.
