The role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of initiatives, from growth management and strategic land use planning to planning proposals, master planning, policy development and community engagement.

You will contribute to the preparation and implementation of strategic planning frameworks, growth management initiatives and land use policies that guide the Shire's future development, balancing growth opportunities with environmental stewardship and community aspirations.

About the role:

- Develop and implement strategic land use strategies aligned with Council priorities, State policies, community values and future growth needs.
- Assess environmental, social and economic opportunities and constraints to inform strategic planning outcomes.
- Prepare, review and amend planning instruments, planning proposals, strategies and policies.
- Contribute to the delivery of Council's strategic planning and growth management objectives.
- Facilitate stakeholder and community engagement to support informed planning decisions.
- Ensure compliance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and Local Government Act.

We are seeking:

- Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or related discipline.
- Eligibility for Corporate Membership of the Planning Institute of Australia.
- Previous experience in strategic and land use planning desirable.
- Previous experience in planning policy development and implementation desirable.
