About the Role:

MEC NT are seeking suitably qualified Electrical Trade Assistants, to provide effective electrical and operational support to electricians and site teams, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and work health and safety requirements.

This role is ideally suited to candidates with previous electrical industry experience, including overseas-qualified electricians, electrical workers progressing through TRA skills assessment pathways, and Electrical TAs looking to develop their careers within a leading NT contractor.

Working alongside our licensed electricians and project teams, you'll be involved in major commercial, industrial, defence, infrastructure and remote-area electrical projects across the Northern Territory.

In this role you will work on large scale construction and infrastructure projects, developing your skills across commercial, industrial, defence, power and remote-area electrical systems.

What you'll be doing:

- Assist electricians with installation, maintenance and commissioning works





- Install cable tray, conduit, cable supports and electrical infrastructure

- Pull and terminate cables under supervision

- Assist with switchboard, lighting, power and communications installations

- Interpret basic drawings and follow work instructions

What we’re looking for:

- Current Australian Drivers Licence

- Construction Induction (White Card)

- Experience as an Electrical Trade Assistant (not just labourer/TA)

- Experience working on commercial, industrial or construction projects

- Ability to pass a police clearance as well as drug and alcohol testing

- A strong work ethic and effective communication skills

Favourable Attributes:

- Overseas Qualified Electrician with current TRA Skills Assessment underway or planned

- Experience supporting licensed electricians on major projects

- EWP, Working at Heights or Confined Space tickets

- Experience reading electrical drawings and plans

- Defence or remote-area project experience

- Machinery operating qualifications
