Suneden is an independent specialist school catering for students with intellectual disabilities aged 5-19.

Suneden is a leader in providing specialist education to student with disabilities. An exciting opportunity exists for a Student Support Officer (SSO) to join our team of dedicated staff. The role is for school terms only (40 weeks/year + 4 weeks annual leave, pro rata). More than one position is available, commencing January 2027.

- Fixed term position 28.75 hours/week 9am-3.15pm.

The position is for 2027 with prospect for further employment beyond 2027. The hours of work are 9am-3.15pm (school terms only).

Key Duties

· Working as part of a team with Teachers, SSOs and Allied Health staff

· Providing classroom support for students to access the curriculum

· Supporting students with self regulation, personal care, mealtimes and therapy needs

· Supporting students on class excursions

· Playground supervision

· Supporting class teachers with resource preparation and classroom organization





· Actively participating in school activities, events, staff and team meetings, required training and professional development

Skills and Experience

· WWCC and RRHAN (essential)

· Experience working with students with disabilities, including Autism

· Experience working as an SSO

· Cert III in Education Support or Disability Support (or similar)

· First Aid Certificate

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Remuneration

Remuneration will be determined according to your experience in relation to the Suneden Enterprise Agreement. Salary Packaging is available.
