About the Role
As Studio Lead, you will manage the workflow and briefing of the creative team, understanding the needs of those briefing in and participating in forums that keep the team's work aligned to broader strategy. Reporting to the Head of Creative Services, you will be responsible for ensuring briefs are transparent, strategically aligned and prioritised effectively, enabling our creative specialists to focus on their craft.
You'll work closely with the Head of Creative Services and Creative Leads (leading their respective team of creative specialists) to streamline projects and workflow, acting as a go-between where needed for the various teams within Compassion, media partners, and in-house creative team.
It's a role for a highly relational organiser who thrives on bringing structure to creativity, builds trust across teams, and wants their skills to help release children from poverty in Jesus' name.
About You
You are a highly organised and collaborative operator who thrives on bringing clarity to a busy creative environment. You combine strong project management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships, prioritise competing demands and keep work moving. With experience in creative or agency-style environments, you are confident scoping work, setting timelines and connecting stakeholders with creative specialists to deliver meaningful outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead out the management of the workflow of the Creative Services team, including which work is allocated to which creative team and when and how one team can support the other to manage capacity, drawing on department-level strategic direction (e.g. via traffic meetings) to inform prioritisation.
- Work closely with the Creative Leads and their teams, ensuring an appropriate amount of time is spent on any given item of work, freeing the creative specialists to do deeper creative thinking where it matters most.
- Lead the Studio team in a way that promotes unity, prioritises strategic thinking and exploration of new ideas, and encourages personal growth and development.
- Input into broader Creative Services direction and initiatives as part of the CS Leads team.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, ensuring deep understanding of their needs and goals and how the CS team can best support them.
- Manage external creative contractors and other external providers as the key point of contact, organising necessary briefings, meetings and bookings.
- Acts as the first point of screening for all approved requests to Creative Services and asks the questions needed up front (objectives, KPIs, due dates, content, formats, audience) so briefs arrive at CS complete and workable.
- Other duties consistent with the position where required and/or requested from time to time.
What You’ll Bring
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to build and maintain workflows and prioritise tasks that keep a busy creative studio running smoothly.
- Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to understand a stakeholder's needs, build good relationships, and clarify or push back against requests or brief that are not aligned with strategy.
- Well-developed understanding of the team's project management system Asana.
- Strong knowledge of the roles and operations of a creative team (e.g. design, communications, film production).
- Strong understanding of how to develop systems to enhance a team’s workflow and prioritise competing work.
- Experience in agency account management, client-facing roles or working with media or creative agencies;
- Experience with project management and managing people, particularly in the creative sector;
- Strong experience in leadership roles and working on a team of leads;
- Tertiary qualifications in project management, communications, administration, or a related field (desirable).
