Role Description This is a full-time workshop role as a Switchboard Builder Electrician based in Gosford, NSW.

The Switchboard Builder

Electrician will assemble, wire, and test commercial and industrial switchboards and control panels in accordance with electrical standards and project specifications. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting electrical drawings, mounting components, terminating cables, and performing quality checks on completed assemblies.



The role also involves working closely with other electricians and workshop staff to meet project deadlines, maintaining a safe and tidy workspace, and reporting any issues or hazards. The successful candidate will contribute to continuous improvement in build processes and support the delivery of high-quality, reliable electrical systems to clients.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in switchboard or control panel building, including wiring, cable termination, and assembly to Australian standards.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety practices, WHS requirements, and safe use of hand and power tools.
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance, testing, and fault-finding in switchboards and related equipment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a workshop workplace and meet tight deadlines.
- Current driver’s license and the right to work in Australia.
