Role Description The Swim School Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Geelong, VIC, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of Bright Waves Swim School. This position manages class schedules, instructor assignments, and customer bookings to maintain low class numbers and a high-quality boutique experience.

The Swim School

Manager supports and coaches instructors, ensures adherence to the swim program and safety standards, and monitors swimmer progression through the sticker certificate system. The role includes engaging with families, handling inquiries, resolving issues, and promoting a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.



Additional responsibilities may include staff training, performance monitoring, basic facility oversight, and contributing to program improvements that align with Bright Waves’ vision of inspiring, encouraging, and helping swimmers succeed.

Qualifications

- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience supervising or coordinating teams in an education, sport, or aquatic setting.
- Customer service and communication skills to engage positively with swimmers, families, and staff, including the ability to handle inquiries and resolve concerns professionally.
- Organizational and administrative skills for managing schedules, bookings, records, and day-to-day operational tasks.
- Knowledge of swim instruction or aquatic programs, with an understanding of water safety principles and learner progression frameworks.
- Ability to build a supportive, inclusive learning environment that motivates and recognizes swimmers’ achievements.
- Relevant qualifications such as swim teacher or coaching certifications, first aid and CPR, and any required local pool safety accreditations (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience in program coordination or education (e.g., background in teaching, coaching, or child-focused programs) is highly beneficial.
- Comfort working on-site in an aquatic environment, with availability for full-time hours that may include peak lesson times.
