Sydney Signature Experiences runs small-group walking and food tours across Sydney — The Rocks, Surry Hills, and Chinatown — sharing the city's history, culture, and food scene with visitors from around the world.

About the role

We're looking for a passionate local host to lead our tours. No professional guide license is required — just genuine enthusiasm, solid local knowledge, and the ability to create a memorable experience for every group. Tours run in small groups and are either 2 or 3 hours long, depending on the itinerary.

Contract Type: Freelance / Independent Contractor

What we offer

- $80–$95 AUD per tour for 2-hour tours (rate depends on group size), $120–$140 AUD per tour for 3-hour tours
- Keep 100% of your tips — all gratuities go directly to you

Performance bonuses For your first 6 months, you'll earn a bonus for every positive guest review you receive:





- $5 for every 5-star review
- $3 for every 4-star review

Responsibilities

- Lead engaging walking and/or food tours, sharing Sydney's stories, history, and hidden gems
- Create a warm, welcoming experience tailored to each group
- Ensure guest safety and comfort throughout the tour
- Share feedback to help us keep improving the experience

What you'll need

- Legal work right in Australia
- Your own ABN
- Confident public speaking and storytelling ability
- Solid knowledge of Sydney's history, culture, and neighbourhoods
- Availability across weekends and/or weekdays

Nice to have

- Previous guiding, hosting, or hospitality experience
- A second language
- Food and beverage knowledge (for our food tour routes)

Pay: $40.00 – $47.00 per hour Expected hours: 2.0 – 10.0 per week
