Few contract roles offer this much variety. Our client, a respected ASX-listed business based in Melbourne, is seeking a Systems Accountant to join its Finance team on an immediate 3-month contract. Sitting at the intersection of accounting, systems and process improvement, you will be the team's go-to expert for SAP and Concur, support month end and management reporting, and bring a fresh perspective to processes that are ready for improvement.

About the role You will sit at the centre of the team's systems, reporting and month-end activity. Key responsibilities include:

- Acting as the subject matter expert and first point of contact for SAP and Concur, supporting Finance, Accounts Payable and the wider business
- Setting up and maintaining codes, and resolving data issues,



system errors and purchase order and invoice queries with IT and external vendors
- Preparing and reviewing month-end journals and accruals, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
- Supporting monthly management accounts, actual versus budget and forecast reporting, and ad hoc analysis
- Managing asset accounting, including capitalisation, depreciation, disposals and the fixed asset register
- Running the corporate credit card process, weekly purchase order reporting and the fortnightly payment run
- Improving system workflows, controls and documentation, and assisting with testing of system changes and enhancements

What they're looking for This role suits a technically confident accountant who can hit the ground running and enjoys being the person others rely on. You will bring:

- A degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline, with CA or CPA qualification (completed or in progress) highly regarded
- Strong experience as an accountant, including month-end close and management reporting
- A sound understanding of asset and property accounting principles
- Experience with ERP systems and finance workflows, with hands-on SAP and Concur experience highly regarded
- The confidence to support and train stakeholders at all levels of the business
- Strong attention to detail, a curious and proactive mindset, and a genuine sense of ownership
