About the opportunity We are seeking a Systems Support Analyst to join the Student Systems team within the Division of Student Services and Operations. The team manages the University’s core student information systems, supporting the student lifecycle through user support, training, system administration, reporting, development, and continuous improvement. Working closely with Systems Support Officers, the Systems Support Analyst provides second-level support, identifies opportunities to enhance systems and processes, and helps deliver technology-driven efficiencies.
The role also supports the planning and coordination of software releases across student systems, including scheduling, impact analysis, testing, environment and outage management, and project delivery.
What you’ll do:
- Provide expert assistance with system, process, and reporting requests and incidents, prioritising and managing issues through to resolution.
- Develop and maintain an expert knowledge of student systems and assist in the development and maintenance of documentation including system administration and support procedures, training manuals, and technical/system architecture documentation.
- Assist with the development, testing, coordination,
and implementation of changes to student systems, including changes arising from software upgrades or business improvement processes, in accordance with change management processes.
- Participate in projects relating to continuous improvement activities, infrastructure improvement, identified functional issues and new system implementations, including timely and accurate reporting on the status of issues, risks, and timelines.
- Represent the Student Systems Manager, and the University, in fora including internal committees and expert theme and technical working groups, national networks including vendor user groups and in liaison with external partners and parties as required.
What we’re looking for:
- A relevant degree from a recognised higher education institution with at least 4 years’ experience in systems support or business analysis, or an equivalent level of expertise gained through a combination of experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated strong client service orientation and skills including conflict resolution, prioritisation, communication, and problem-management.
- Significant experience of application/technical support within a complex client/server environment, including an analytical approach to problem solving, Incident and Problem management experience, and familiarity with escalation processes, reporting, and knowledge management.
- High-level proficiency in the use of SQL and experience of scripting,
development or programming of any sort as well as a strong understanding of the principles and concepts common to these functions.
- Demonstrated understanding of system architecture, including experience with Windows/Linux servers, Oracle/SQL Server/Ingres databases, integration, reporting and web technologies.
Salary details Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130,943 comprising base salary within the range of $101,821 to $111,917 plus 17% superannuation.
