About the role

The Department of Education and Training Northern Territory is seeking two Talent Acquisition Officers to join our Human Resources and Recruitment team in Darwin. We have two full-time opportunities available:

- 1 x 6-month temporary position
- 1 x 12-month temporary position

As a Talent Acquisition Officer, you will support the attraction and recruitment of high-quality candidates across the Department of Education and Training. You will work closely with hiring managers and candidates to deliver effective, timely and positive recruitment experiences across a range of roles. This is an opportunity to contribute to the workforce that supports education and training services across the Northern Territory.

Key responsibilities

- Manage recruitment activities across the full recruitment lifecycle, from vacancy analysis and sourcing through to candidate screening and appointment
- Develop and implement recruitment approaches to attract high-quality candidates across a range of roles
- Prepare and publish job advertisements across relevant recruitment platforms
- Source and identify potential candidates using a range of recruitment and talent acquisition methods
- Conduct initial telephone and video interviews and provide recommendations to hiring managers
- Build strong working relationships with hiring managers and stakeholders to understand recruitment requirements and provide advice throughout the process
- Coordinate interviews, selection activities and candidate communications
- Provide a high level of support and guidance to candidates throughout the recruitment process
- Maintain accurate recruitment records and candidate information in relevant systems and databases




- Monitor recruitment activity, pipelines and outcomes and contribute to recruitment reporting and workforce insights
- Ensure recruitment activities are undertaken in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures and equal opportunity principles
- Contribute to continuous improvement of recruitment processes, systems and candidate experience

What we're looking for

We are looking for people who can demonstrate:
- Experience in recruitment, talent acquisition or a related human resources environment
- Experience managing recruitment activities and candidate pipelines, preferably within a large or complex organisation
- Strong candidate sourcing and screening skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with candidates, hiring managers and stakeholders
- The ability to manage multiple vacancies and competing priorities while meeting recruitment timeframes
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with a high level of attention to detail
- Experience using recruitment systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team
- A strong customer service focus and commitment to delivering a positive candidate experience




- An understanding of Australian employment legislation, equal opportunity principles and contemporary recruitment practices

Qualifications or relevant experience in human resources, recruitment or a related field will be highly regarded.
