St Andrew's Cathedral School is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Health Centre on a casual, term-time only basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in caring for our students and contributing to a positive, healthy and supportive school environment.

The Health Centre operates Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm, with flexibility and availability to work Fridays essential.

About the Role

As a key member of our Health Centre team, you will provide high-quality nursing care and wellbeing support to students, responding confidently to both routine and urgent health needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Promoting and supporting the health, safety and wellbeing of students
- Assessing and managing a wide range of health presentations, from minor illnesses and injuries to emergency situations
- Administering first aid and coordinating appropriate follow-up care
- Maintaining accurate, confidential and up-to-date student health records
- Administering medications in accordance with parental consent and School procedures
- Developing and monitoring student health care plans
- Communicating effectively with parents, carers and School staff regarding student health matters
- Providing wellbeing support and appropriate referrals where required
- Completing incident reports and other Health Centre documentation
- Assisting with the day-to-day administration and operation of the Health Centre
- Building positive relationships with students, families, staff and the wider School community.

This role requires a professional who can work both independently and collaboratively, exercise sound clinical judgement and remain calm and responsive in a busy school environment.

About You

You are a qualified and experienced Registered Nurse who enjoys working with children and adolescents and is committed to delivering exceptional care.

- The confidence to engage effectively with students, parents, carers and colleagues
- Exceptional organisational and administrative skills

- A strong understanding of confidentiality, professional practice and child safeguarding responsibilities

Experience in a school setting, community health, paediatrics or a similar environment will be highly regarded.

Essential Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Demonstrated nursing experience, preferably within a school or community health setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to establish positive and productive relationships across a diverse school community
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications
- A current NSW Working with Children Check Clearance
- Availability and flexibility to work Fridays
- A demonstrated commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- A sound understanding of child-safe practices and appropriate qualified behaviours when working with students
