2IC Event Operations Supervisor – Weddings & Events

Springfield House is looking for an experienced and energetic 2IC Event Operations Supervisor to join our team and assist with overseeing weddings and special events.
Located approximately 35 minutes from Sydney CBD, Springfield House is renowned for its boutique-style Manor and luxury Pavilion marquee. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional hospitality and creating unforgettable experiences for every couple and guest.
About the role
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will assist in overseeing the smooth delivery of weddings and events, from venue setup through to pack-down.
This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong event experience, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to lead staff during busy functions.
Your responsibilities will include
- Assisting the Operations Manager with the delivery of weddings and events
- Supervising waitstaff, bar staff and setup crews
- Conducting staff briefings and allocating duties
- Ensuring the venue is set up correctly according to floor plans and event requirements
- Coordinating table settings, furniture, bars and other event equipment
- Overseeing pack-down and ensuring the venue is reset efficiently
- Communicating with suppliers, contractors and event vendors
- Monitoring service standards and resolving operational issues
- Ensuring event timelines and run sheets are followed
- Maintaining workplace health, safety and RSA compliance
- Supporting the team wherever required to ensure every event runs successfully
About you The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in event operations, with wedding experience highly regarded
- Experience supervising or leading hospitality teams
- A strong understanding of function setup, service and pack-down procedures
- Confidence reading floor plans, event orders and run sheets
- The ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and high presentation standards
- A reliable, proactive and hands-on approach
- A current NSW RSA certificate
- Full Australian working rights
- A driver’s licence and reliable transport
Weekend and late-night availability is essential, particularly on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The position will initially be offered on a casual basis, with the possibility of progressing to permanent part-time employment for the right candidate.
