About the Role

Rainbow Imports Pty Ltd is looking for an experienced and motivated Accounts Officer / Assistant Accountant to join our growing team in Wetherill Park.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function within a fast-growing wholesale and e-commerce business. Working closely with management and our external accountants, you will be involved in all aspects of finance, from daily accounting operations through to month-end reporting and compliance.

This position offers excellent exposure to all areas of accounting within a growing multi-state business and provides genuine opportunities for long-term career development.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Finance Operations

- Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

- Maintain accurate financial records in Xero

- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and payment gateways

- Process supplier payments and customer receipts

- Process weekly and fortnightly payroll, superannuation and employee entitlements

- Assist with maintaining accurate inventory-related financial records

Month-End & Reporting
- Assist with month-end close procedures

- Prepare monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports

- Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and monitor business cash position

- Assist with budgeting and financial reporting

- Reconcile inventory movements and investigate discrepancies where required

Compliance & Financial Administration
- Prepare BAS, IAS and other ATO compliance requirements

- Liaise with external accountants, auditors and tax advisors





- Assist with end-of-year financial reporting and audit preparation

- Review monthly payroll, staff reimbursements and expense claims for our overseas office

- Support continuous improvement of financial processes and internal controls

General
- Work closely with warehouse, operations and management teams

- Provide financial and administrative support to management as required

About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Accounts Officer, Assistant Accountant or similar accounting role

- Experience working in an SME environment

- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline

- Strong working knowledge of Xero and Microsoft Excel

- Sound understanding of Australian accounting principles, payroll and GST/BAS requirements

- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy

- Strong organisational and time management skills

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- CPA/CA studies are advantageous but not essential

- Mandarin speaking is preferred but not essential
