Are you an experienced Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable professional who can hit the ground running, quickly get across established processes and confidently manage the day-to-day transactional needs of a busy Finance function?

Ronald McDonald House Victoria & Tasmania is looking for a hands-on Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Officer to join our Finance team on a three-month fixed-term, part time contract.

This isn't a role that needs someone to come in and reinvent the wheel.

We need a capable, reliable and experienced finance professional who can quickly understand our processes, take ownership of our day-to-day AP and AR activities and keep things accurate, organised and moving throughout the contract period.

About the role

Working as part of our Finance team, you'll provide hands-on transactional finance support across accounts payable and accounts receivable.

You'll work within established systems and processes, managing everything from supplier invoices and weekly payment runs through to receipting, debtor follow-up, reconciliations and responding to everyday finance queries.

It's a practical role for someone who enjoys the detail, takes ownership of their work and knows what good AP and AR looks like.

What you'll be doing

- Process supplier invoices and manage the accounts payable inbox.

- Prepare weekly payment runs and supporting schedules.

- Raise and issue customer and donor invoices and manage accounts receivable.

- Complete daily receipting and investigate unallocated receipts, short payments and other discrepancies.

- Reconcile supplier statements and follow up discrepancies.

- Monitor outstanding debtors and follow up overdue payments.

- Assist with month-end reconciliations relating to AP and AR.

- Respond to internal and external queries regarding invoices, payments and accounts.

- Provide general finance and administration support as required.

What we're looking for

This role will suit an experienced Accounts Payable Officer, Accounts Receivable Officer, Finance Officer or Accounts Officer who is comfortable stepping into an established function and getting on with the job.





You'll ideally bring

- Previous experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable or a similar transactional finance role.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy across data entry, invoicing and reconciliations.

- Confidence using accounting and finance systems.

- Experience preparing payment runs, processing receipts and reconciling accounts.

- Good communication skills and confidence following up suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.

- A practical, organised and proactive approach.

- The ability to work independently, prioritise and manage competing deadlines.

Experience in the not-for-profit, community, health or human services sector would be advantageous but isn't essential.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is reliable, accurate and proactive – someone who can quickly get across our processes, take ownership of their work and keep our AP and AR functions running smoothly.

The details

- Contract: Three-month fixed-term contract

- Hours: 20 hours per week / 0.5 FTE

- Days: Monday to Thursday

- Hours: 10.00am – 3.00pm

- Location: North Fitzroy

- Working arrangements: Primarily on-site, with one day working from home (Wednesday preferred)

- Rate: $37 per hour superannuation salary packaging
