Moyle Pathfinder PL is seeking an experienced and reliable Agricultural Worker / General Farmhand to join our established stud beef and sheep farming operation in south-west Victoria.
This is a full-time, hands-on position working across our livestock properties in the Southern Grampians and Moyne Shires. The successful applicant will work directly with stud beef cattle and sheep and assist with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the farm.
Key Responsibilities The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Day-to-day livestock husbandry, including feeding, monitoring animal health and welfare, yarding and handling livestock.
- Assisting with lambing and calving activities.
- Safely operating tractors, farm vehicles and general agricultural machinery.
- Carrying out basic maintenance of tractors, machinery and farm equipment.
- Constructing, inspecting and repairing farm fencing.
- Maintaining and repairing farm water systems, troughs and associated infrastructure.
- General paddock maintenance and farm upkeep.
- Maintaining clean and protected yards, sheds and other farm facilities.
- Assisting with fodder production, feeding and cropping-related activities as required.
- Working safely and effectively both independently and as part of a small farm team.
Skills & Experience
Applicants should have
- Demonstrated practical experience working on a livestock farm, preferably with both cattle and sheep.
- Experience handling livestock safely and appropriately.
- Ability to safely operate tractors and general agricultural machinery.
- Practical skills in fencing, water systems and general farm maintenance.
- Ability to identify and report livestock health and welfare issues.
- Strong work ethic, reliability and initiative.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Good physical fitness and ability to undertake manual farm work in varying weather conditions.
- A commitment to workplace health and safety and animal welfare.
