Are you passionate about solving real-world conveyor challenges and helping customers keep critical operations moving? We are looking for an experienced Application Engineer to bring technical expertise, practical field insight, and customer-focused problem solving to conveyor belt systems and bulk materials handling operations.
In this role, you will be more than a technical support contact — you will be a trusted partner to customers and site teams. You will combine engineering knowledge, hands-on troubleshooting, and clear communication to improve conveyor reliability, reduce downtime, and deliver practical solutions that make a measurable difference in the field.
Key responsibilities
- Bring your technical expertise to steel cord and fabric conveyor belt systems across demanding operating environments.
- Assess conveyor systems in the field and translate inspection findings into practical improvement actions.
- Lead belt failure investigations and root cause analysis to help customers understand issues and prevent recurrence.
- Prepare clear, actionable technical reports that support confident decision-making after site inspections.
- Recommend fit-for-purpose belt specifications, splicing methods, repair options, and conveyor system improvements.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, reliability, productivity, and long-term asset performance.
- Support shutdown planning, major maintenance activities, and conveyor belt replacements with practical technical guidance.
- Build strong working relationships with customers, maintenance teams, and site stakeholders to deliver effective technical outcomes.
- Monitor conveyor performance and provide recommendations that help maximise belt life and minimise unplanned downtime.
- Contribute your ideas to continuous improvement initiatives and best-practice maintenance strategies.
About you
- Hands-on experience with conveyor belt systems in mining, bulk materials handling, ports, or industrial environments.
- Robust technical understanding of steel cord and fabric conveyor belts.
- Confidence in conducting belt inspections, investigating failures, and applying root cause analysis.
- Practical knowledge of conveyor maintenance, splicing, repairs, and belt replacement activities.
- A curious, analytical mindset and the drive to solve complex technical problems.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings in a practical and customer-focused way.
- The ability to build trust quickly with customers, internal teams, and site stakeholders.
- A safety-first approach and a genuine interest in continuous improvement.
- Mechanical Engineering qualifications are desirable, but we also value strong industry experience and practical conveyor knowledge.
Benefits
- Join an experienced team that values technical know-how, collaboration, and practical problem solving.
- Take on varied, hands-on work across a wide range of customer sites and operating conditions.
- Make a visible impact by helping customers improve reliability, performance, safety, and uptime.
- Be part of a supportive culture that encourages safety, innovation, learning, and professional development.
- Grow your career in a technically rewarding role with competitive remuneration and long-term development opportunities.
