The Role

We are seeking an experienced operational leader to join our West Operations team as an Area Operations Manager.

Reporting to the General Manager Operations - Hard Rock, you will lead customer operations across multiple mining sites, ensuring the safe delivery of contractual commitments while driving strong operational, commercial and people outcomes.

Leading operational teams across both surface and underground mining environments, you will provide support to our operational team across, MPU Operators, Underground Drivers and DynoMiner Maintenance Technicians within a complex multi-site portfolio.

Working closely with customers, site leadership teams and internal stakeholders, you will strengthen key partnerships, mentor operational leaders and drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high performance. This is a significant leadership role offering the opportunity to influence both strategic direction and day-to-day operational success.

- Lead and develop operational leaders and site-based teams to deliver exceptional safety and performance outcomes
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring contract commitments and KPIs are achieved
- Drive operational excellence, continuous improvement and business profitability across the region
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ requirements, company standards and regulatory obligations
- Support strategic initiatives, workforce capability development and sustainable business growth

What you’ll bring You are a respected operational leader with a strong track record in mining environments. You bring the ability to influence at all levels, build high-performing teams and deliver results while maintaining an unwavering commitment to safety.
- Significant leadership experience within mining, drill and blast, explosives or a related operational environment
- Strong understanding of safety leadership,



risk management and regulatory compliance
- Experience leading leaders and managing geographically dispersed operations
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and customer relationship management skills
- Commercial acumen, contract management experience and a focus on delivering business outcomes
- A proactive leadership style with a passion for developing people and driving continuous improvement
- Open cut and underground mining experience
- Drill and blast or explosives industry experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining, Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience in industrial relations, change management or business transformation
