ABOUT THE BRANCH The Parliamentary Business Resources (PBR) Framework Branch in Ministerial and Parliamentary Services Division (MaPS), within Finance, provides advice and support services on a range of matters pertaining to Parliamentarians’ work expenses in accordance with federal legislation.
The PBR Branch consists of four teams:
- Capital Works and Security
- PBR Policy and Assurance
- Property and State Office Support
- PBR Governance
ABOUT THE PROSPECT
As an Assistant Territory Manager in the Property and State Office Support Team, you will manage and coordinate client support services for the Northern Territory (NT) Commonwealth Parliamentary Office and NT electorate offices, with a focus on consistent service delivery, compliance with legislative and policy frameworks, and timely resolution of complex or sensitive issues. We are seeking motivated people who are keen to further develop their professional capability while supporting the effective operation of Parliamentarians’ offices through the provision of high-quality advice, coordination of services and informed problem solving.
The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who thrives in an independent working environment. As the departmental representative in the location and a member of the broader NT/WA team, the successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the region while managing local priorities and stakeholder relationships. The role requires the ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and exercise sound judgement, while maintaining strong connections with stakeholders and colleagues across multiple offices.
Due to operational requirements, this role is predominantly office-based and requires regular on-site attendance. The successful candidate must hold and maintain a current Australian Class C driver's licence, as local travel is required as part of the role.
Your duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Providing advice and support to current and former Parliamentarians and their employees on services delivered under the Parliamentary Business Resources Framework, applying relevant policies,
procedures and guidelines to respond to enquiries and support service delivery.
- Supporting procurement and financial administration activities, including processing work-related expenses through relevant financial and corporate systems, while maintaining compliance with policies, procedures and service standards.
- Supporting leasing and accommodation activities for electorate offices, including working with service providers on lease establishment, lease management and related accommodation matters.
- Coordinating facilities management services for electorate offices and Commonwealth Parliamentary Offices, working with service providers and stakeholders to support service delivery and address operational issues as required.
- Delivering and supporting visitor management and front of house services within Commonwealth Parliamentary Offices, contributing to a professional, secure and welcoming environment.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, service providers and stakeholders to support business outcomes, contribute to continuous improvement and deliver a positive client experience.

We are looking for people who will champion our inclusive, curious and empowered culture, are able to align to our Departmental priorities, who seize opportunities presented by change and are able to identify and lead innovation and continuous improvement in the workplace.
