As an Automotive Spraypainter, you will play a crucial role in restoring vehicles to their original condition, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and attention to detail in every project you undertake.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces through sanding, cleaning and masking to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Apply primer, undercoat and paint finishes using spray equipment, ensuring even coverage and colour matching
- Mix paint colours accurately to match existing vehicle finishes and customer specifications
- Operate and maintain spray painting equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards
- Inspect completed work to ensure paint finish meets quality standards and customer expectations
- Follow health, safety and environmental guidelines, including proper handling of hazardous materials and use of personal protective equipment
- Communicate effectively with other team members and management regarding project progress and any issues that arise
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, including proper storage and disposal of materials
What we're looking for
- Trade qualification or certification in automotive spray painting or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Proven experience as an Automotive Spraypainter in a smash repair or automotive workshop environment
- Strong knowledge of paint systems, colour matching techniques and spray application methods
- Competency in surface preparation and masking procedures
- Understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations relevant to automotive spray painting
- Ability to work with precision and attention to detail to achieve high-quality finishes
- Good communication and teamwork skills to work effectively within a workshop environment
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transport
- Physical fitness to perform tasks requiring standing, reaching and lifting
