Babylon Data is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to support the Australian Army’s Land Network Integration Centre in Symonston, ACT.

This is a senior Defence engineering and capability-delivery position responsible for helping establish the Integrated Sensor Architecture National Office under Project AMP06006. The office will support the implementation of a common architecture standard enabling military sensors to integrate across Land tactical networks.

The successful candidate will manage the planning, governance and delivery of complex engineering, systems integration, technical assurance and test and evaluation activities.

- Clearance: NV1 minimum, or immediate eligibility to obtain and maintain NV1
- Travel: Domestic travel may be required

Working closely with the ISANO Systems Engineer, Army stakeholders, Defence capability projects and industry partners, you will coordinate the establishment and delivery of the new national office.

You will manage project schedules, risks, resources, budgets, dependencies and governance while ensuring engineering and integration outcomes are delivered in accordance with approved Defence plans and standards.

The position will contribute to the adoption of the Integrated Sensor Architecture, a US-developed military-off-the-shelf data standard intended to enable different sensor systems to operate across a common network.

- Develop and maintain the AMP06006 Stage 2 Project Management Plan.
- Establish and manage the project work breakdown structure, schedule, risks and stakeholder arrangements.
- Coordinate engineering, integration, assurance, verification and validation activities.
- Manage dependencies and risks affecting technical delivery and Army business outcomes.
- Plan and track engineering reviews, governance forums and project milestones.
- Coordinate reporting on technical risks, engineering issues and integration activities.
- Support engineering assurance and technical standards implementation.
- Coordinate engagement with Army projects, industry partners and external stakeholders.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, resources and governance reporting.
- Coordinate prototyping, trials, test and evaluation activities.
- Support operational test and evaluation of Integrated Sensor Architecture implementation.
- Produce monthly reporting against agreed deliverables and Key Result Areas.
- Support knowledge transfer, handover and continuity of capability.

Applicants must satisfy all of the following requirements:

- A master’s degree or higher in Project Management, Program Management, Engineering Management, Business Administration, Management Studies or a closely related discipline.
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Computer Science, Systems Science or an equivalent technical discipline.
- A recognised project management accreditation, or immediate eligibility to obtain one, such as PMP, CPPM, CPPP, PRINCE2 Practitioner or MSP Practitioner.




- At least 15 years of industry experience in engineering or project management, preferably within ICT environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex engineering, systems integration, ICT, C4I or Defence capability projects.
- An NV1 security clearance or immediate eligibility to obtain and maintain one.
- Capacity to work primarily onsite at Symonston.
- Ability to comply with applicable ITAR requirements.
- Willingness to complete mandatory Defence and role-specific training.

Applicants who do not hold both the required postgraduate and technical undergraduate qualifications are unlikely to be eligible for submission.

- Advanced accreditation through AIPM, PMI, PRINCE2, MSP, MoP or an equivalent qualified body.
- Defence systems integration, interoperability, technical standards, architecture or capability-assurance experience.
- Experience working under a Systems Engineering Management Plan, Test and Evaluation Master Plan or comparable governance framework.
- Defence acquisition, sustainment, systems engineering, communications, battle management or C4I experience.
- Experience with military sensors, tactical networks, open architectures or interoperability standards.
- Knowledge of PMBOK, PMMv2, Agile delivery and Defence project-governance frameworks.
- Experience advising senior Defence, APS, military and industry stakeholders.
- A record of delivering complex engineering outcomes through multidisciplinary teams.

- Engineers Australia, AIPM or PMI membership.
- Previous ADF service or substantial Defence industry experience.
- Familiarity with the Defence Capability System, One Defence Capability System, CASG governance or Army capability-delivery frameworks.
- Experience leading mixed teams of APS, ADF, contractors and industry representatives.
- Defence ICT accreditation, cybersecurity accreditation or security-governance experience.
- Experience supporting Army Headquarters, CASG, CIOG, DSTG or Joint Capabilities Group.
