The chance Our client is a growing Australian automation and systems integration business delivering customised warehouse automation, materials handling, and operational efficiency solutions across a range of industries.

With continued growth across logistics, e-commerce, retail, manufacturing, and distribution, they are now seeking an experienced and commercially focused Business Development Manager to support expansion across the Victorian market, with scope to influence wider growth beyond VIC.

This is a client-facing role focused on developing current business, building strategic relationships, and identifying solution opportunities that improve performance across warehousing, fulfilment, and industrial operations.

The business operates in a project-based technical sales environment, delivering tailored automation and materials handling solutions ranging from smaller upgrades through to multimillion-dollar projects.

What you’ll be doing

- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of new business opportunities across target markets
- Identify customer challenges and position tailored automation and materials handling solutions
- Conduct market analysis and uncover growth opportunities across relevant sectors
- Build long-term relationships with operational, engineering,



and executive stakeholders
- Prepare and deliver proposals, presentations, and solution recommendations
- Work closely with internal engineering and project delivery teams
- Maintain accurate pipeline activity, reporting, and customer engagement records
- Represent the business at relevant industry events, networking opportunities, and client meetings
- Contribute to broader market growth strategies and business development initiatives

About you You are commercially minded, proactive, and confident operating in technical sales environments. You know how to lead consultative conversations, understand operational challenges, and help customers identify practical efficiency and automation opportunities.

What you’ll bring

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in B2B sales or business development
- Exposure to warehouse automation, conveyor systems, AS/RS, AMRs, robotics, industrial automation, materials handling, or related sectors
- Strong new business capability with confidence generating and developing opportunities from the ground up
- Experience selling project-based solutions valued at $1M or long-cycle technical solutions
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across technical and commercial teams
- Strong commercial discipline, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail
- CAD capability or technical layout conceptualisation experience is advantageous, but not essential
