You will take ownership of the day-to-day books and help make purchasing and stock control more effective. Your ideas and initiative will matter. You will work closely with the Director and technicians at Hillarys Marina, providing bookkeeping, purchasing and stock control support to a small, hands-on team providing marine and automotive electrical services.
Key responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, supplier invoices and customer invoicing.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts; follow up outstanding payments.
- Process payroll, superannuation and employee records.
- Prepare BAS information and liaise with accountant.
- Help with cashflow, basic reporting and general office administration.
- Source, compare and order parts and equipment for the team.
- Work with suppliers on pricing, availability and better purchasing options.
- Help technicians get the right parts when they need them.
- Monitor commonly used items and improve stock levels, organisation and processes.
- Reduce duplicate orders and unnecessary stock.
About you
- Solid small-business bookkeeping experience and confidence with Xero, payroll and reconciliations.
- Enjoy sourcing products and improving stock control.
- Can organise your own workload while communicating well with customers, suppliers and the team.
- Experience in trades, marine, automotive or service businesses is helpful, but a practical approach and willingness to learn the parts used are valuable.
