The Role The acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is a historic and transformative endeavour for Australia. The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting-edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia’s economic and national security landscape for decades to come.

Working closely with the Branch Head, Directors and business partners, the Branch Resourcing Officer will support workforce capability planning, recruitment actions, establishment management, governance activities and performance reporting to ensure the Branch has the personnel, skills and organisational support required to deliver its strategic objectives.

The role requires strong stakeholder engagement, analytical thinking, judgement and organisational skills to coordinate competing priorities across a complex and rapidly evolving environment.

The Branch Resourcing Officer will work under broad direction from the Branch Head and Directors to:

- Coordinate branch workforce planning, establishment management and resourcing activities
- Coordinate branch tasking activities, prioritisations, allocation, monitoring and reporting of work across the branch
- Maintain visibility of branch workloads, resource commitments and delivery priorities to support informed task allocation and workforce planning decisions.
- Support recruitment activities including workforce requests, selection processes, onboarding coordination and engagement with People Group stakeholders
- Monitor branch workforce capacity, capability requirements and resource utilisation to support informed decision-making
- Prepare executive briefs, reports, submissions, business cases and governance artefacts
- Monitor progress of assigned tasking and support Branch leadership to identify delivery risks, resource constraints and emerging priorities.
- Maintain branch workforce data, staffing records and organisational structures
- Identify workforce risks,



dependencies and constraints and provide recommendations to support mitigation strategies
- Coordinate responses to workforce-related tasking from ASA leadership and corporate stakeholders
- Support budget, contractor and labour hire reporting activities where required
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of branch business management processes and practices
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate workforce and business outcomes

The Branch Resourcing Officer is expected to exercise sound judgement and initiative while managing competing priorities and delivering outcomes in a high-profile and complex delivery environment. About our Team The Digital Engineering Branch sits at the core of the ASA’s mission, building the digital backbone that will underpin sovereign technical control of Australia’s acquisition of conventionally armed nuclear-powered submarines.

We foster a collaborative data and software ecosystem facilitating effective knowledge sharing across the AUKUS enterprise, from submarine design through to disposal.

Our team is responsible for designing and sustaining digital engineering environments, specialised software tools and digital definitions that connect science, engineering, construction, operation and sustainment into a single coherent ecosystem.

We work at the genuine frontier of what’s technically possible in Australia, applying emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning and evolving digital engineering practices including Model-Based Systems Engineering to novel problems in the Australian Defence context.

- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities and deliver outcomes within required timeframes
- Experience supporting recruitment activities, workforce planning or establishment management processes
- Ability to identify issues, resolve problems and recommend practical solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High levels of professionalism, discretion and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
- Commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality business outcomes
