Brunswick Montessori Children’s House is a small, one classroom kindergarten offering exceptional Montessori education for children aged three to six. We take children’s learning seriously and give our educators the time, environment and support to know each child as an individual.

Our long standing team is friendly, skilled and deeply committed to Montessori education. We work with supportive families and a passionate community in beautiful surroundings. On Tuesday mornings, our children and educators spend time at Yakai Barring, our nature classroom, where the outdoor environment becomes another place to explore, learn and grow.

We are looking for a warm and capable Certificate III Educator to join our team. This role would suit someone who is looking for part time work, enjoys working closely with children, takes pride in a thoughtfully prepared classroom and wants to be part of a kindergarten where education is the priority.

What you will do

Working alongside our teachers, you will:

· Build strong, respectful relationships with children and families.

· Support each child’s learning, independence and wellbeing within our multi-age Montessori classroom.

· Help prepare activities and make and care for Montessori materials.

· Maintain a beautiful, orderly classroom that invites children to explore and concentrate.

· Join the team at Yakai Barring on Tuesday mornings.

· Actively supervise children, listen to them and follow our procedures for responding to child safety concerns.

What you will bring

· An ACECQA approved Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, or evidence that you are actively working towards an approved qualification.

· A genuine interest in Montessori education and respect for children as capable learners.

· Warm communication skills and a collaborative approach with colleagues and families.

· Initiative,



reliability and an eye for detail.

· A strong commitment to children’s safety, rights, inclusion and wellbeing.

Montessori training or experience, including an AMI Montessori Assistants Certificate (ages 3–6), would be welcome, but is not essential.

Position details

Commencing in January 2027, this is a part-time position (2 days per week, total 15hrs) during school terms, currently working on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We close during term holidays. All Remuneration and employment conditions are in accordance with the Victorian Early Childhood Teachers and Educators Agreement (VECTEA).

The successful applicant must hold a current Employee Working with Children Check before commencing work and meet the role’s First Aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis training requirements. They must complete the Mandatory National Child Safety Training as well as Victoria’s Protecting Children - Mandatory Reporting and Other Obligations training.
