Role Description The Cable Jointer role at Nebula Elec is a full-time, in office position located in Sydney, NSW.

The Cable

Jointer will be responsible for jointing, terminating, and testing high-voltage and low-voltage cables for data centres, industrial facilities, and infrastructure projects. Day-to-day tasks include preparing cable routes, installing joints and terminations, performing insulation and continuity tests, and maintaining accurate records of work completed. The role involves troubleshooting cable faults, working closely with engineers and electricians, and following safety procedures and industry standards at all times.

Jointer will also support commissioning activities and contribute to the reliability and performance of high-voltage power systems.

Qualifications

- Strong technical skills in electricity and high-voltage cable systems, with the ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Experience working with meters and related testing equipment for cable diagnostics and performance verification.
- Background in utilities or similar power distribution environments, with understanding of grid connections and infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and cable-related issues, including fault finding and corrective actions.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, contractors, and clients, and for clear documentation of work.
- Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in electrical work or cable jointing; appropriate licenses and certifications for NSW are highly valued.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, including adherence to WHS regulations and safe work practices in high-voltage environments.
- Ability to work on-site in varying conditions, handle physical tasks, and travel to different project locations as required.
- Previous experience in data centres, industrial electrical projects, or infrastructure installation is an advantage.
