- Casual Position

The Role The Café Attendant looks after customers on the floor and keeps the café clean, stocked and presentable through service. The position covers greeting and serving customers, taking orders and payments, making and serving barista-style hot beverages, clearing and resetting tables, cleaning dishes, and cleaning the dining area, service areas and service ware.

This role includes general waiting duties and direct service to customers. The employee will undertake barista training and must hold, or be willing to obtain within an agreed timeframe, a recognised barista certificate or equivalent workplace-assessed competency.

It is a casual position worked shift by shift, with hours offered according to trade and the catering calendar. The role suits someone reliable and personable who enjoys working with the public and can keep a steady pace through a busy breakfast or lunch service. Food preparation and cooking sit with the kitchen team.

- A friendly, courteous manner and genuine interest in looking after customers.

- Ability to work quickly and accurately through busy breakfast and lunch periods.

- Reliability and punctuality, and availability for rostered shifts including weekends.

- Confidence handling cash and card payments accurately.

- Willingness to follow food safety, hygiene and cleaning requirements.

- Ability to stand for extended periods and to carry trays, crockery and stock within safe limits.

- Ability to take direction and work as part of a small team.

- Current Working with Children Check,



or willingness to obtain one before commencement
