The Role The Café Front of House Attendant provides welcoming and productive customer service across the café. The role takes customer orders, enters orders accurately, serves food and beverages, prepares and serves hot beverages using commercial coffee equipment, processes payments, and keeps dining and service areas clean, organised, stocked and ready for customers.

This role includes general waiting duties and direct service to customers. The employee will undertake barista training and must hold, or be willing to obtain within an agreed timeframe, a recognised barista certificate or equivalent workplace-assessed competency. The role does not supervise staff or perform specialised fine-dining duties.

About You

Essential

- A friendly, respectful and helpful approach to customers, Community and colleagues.

- Ability to follow instructions, established procedures and checklists.

- Ability to work reliably and cooperatively as part of a small café team.

- Ability and willingness to take orders, serve customers, prepare hot beverages, clear tables, clean and restock front-of-house areas.

- Basic numeracy and accuracy when taking orders and processing payments.

- Ability to work at a steady pace during busy periods.

- Availability to work rostered hours, which may include weekends and occasional events.

- Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one before commencement.





Hold a recognised barista certificate or be willing to obtain one within an agreed timeframe following commencement.

Desirable

- Previous café, hospitality, retail or customer service experience.

- Food handler or basic food safety training.

- Experience working with, or within, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
