About Us

Endeavour Tavern is a well-established hospitality venue located in Lancelin, Western Australia.

Operating seven days a week, the Tavern provides lunch and dinner service in a busy coastal hospitality environment and offers a varied menu of freshly prepared restaurant and pub-style meals. The venue also caters for private functions, group bookings, live entertainment and larger events.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities The successful applicant will be responsible for:

- Preparing, cooking and presenting a wide variety of high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes, menu specifications and presentation standards.
- Planning and developing menu items, daily specials and seasonal offerings in consultation with senior kitchen staff and management.
- Preparing and cooking a range of restaurant and pub-style dishes using appropriate cooking techniques and methods.
- Monitoring the quality of food at all stages of preparation, cooking and presentation.
- Ensuring meals are prepared consistently in accordance with portion, quality and presentation standards.
- Checking the quality and freshness of ingredients and food supplies prior to use.
- Planning food requirements, monitoring stock levels and ordering food and kitchen supplies to meet operational requirements.
- Coordinating food preparation and cooking during busy lunch, dinner, weekend and function services.
- Working closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure effective and timely meal service.
- Maintaining appropriate food storage, preparation and kitchen procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation and workplace health and safety requirements.




- Preparing meals to accommodate dietary requirements and food allergies where required.
- Preparing and catering food for functions, events and high-volume service periods.
- Training, supervising and providing guidance to junior kitchen staff and kitchen assistants.
- Maintaining kitchen equipment, food preparation areas and storage areas in a clean, organised and hygienic condition.
- Contributing to the efficient day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

Skills and Experience The successful applicant will ideally possess:

- Certificate IV or higher in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 1- 2 years of relevant experience working as a Chef or in a comparable commercial kitchen role within a restaurant, hotel, tavern, pub or similar hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food presentation.
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food-handling requirements.
- Experience working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain quality and consistency during high-volume service periods.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a kitchen team.
- Ability to assist with the supervision and training of junior kitchen staff.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A reliable and professional approach to work.
