Saint Lucy Caffé e Cucina is a vibrant Italian dining venue located at The University of Queensland in St Lucia. The business is known for its authentic Italian food, handcrafted pasta dishes, aromatic coffee, and wood-fired pizza, with a strong focus on quality ingredients, culinary innovation, and a welcoming dining experience.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. This is a strong opportunity for a culinary professional who is passionate about Italian cuisine, high-quality food preparation, and delivering consistent service in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Duties and responsibilities include:

- Planning and preparing high-quality Italian dishes in line with the restaurant’s menu and service standards
- Designing and contributing to menu development, including seasonal dishes and specials
- Preparing and cooking food across relevant sections, including pasta, mains, and wood-fired offerings
- Monitoring food quality at all stages of preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Ensuring proper portion control, consistency, and timely service during busy periods
- Supervising kitchen operations and coordinating with kitchen staff during service




- Training and supporting junior kitchen staff as required
- Managing stock rotation, food ordering, and kitchen inventory control
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety requirements
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- At least 1 - 2 years of relevant full-time work experience as a Chef, or comparable experience in a similar role
- Relevant qualifications in commercial cookery or hospitality, highly regarded (at least Diploma level)
- Robust knowledge of Italian cuisine and contemporary kitchen operations
- Experience in high-volume food preparation and service
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail, organisation, and food presentation standards
- A positive attitude and commitment to quality and consistency
