Part-Time/ casual Childcare Chef/Cook – 5 days a week For a centre in Lidcombe/ Guildford

Children's Village Early Learning Centre is a family owned and operated service with over 18 years’ experience in the early years. We are passionate about delivering high quality education guided by the Early Years Framework & National Quality Standards catering for children aged 6 month to 6 years to ensure that individual development is being catered for, encouraged & enhanced.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Cook to join our wonderful team in our exciting Lidcombe location. Hours may vary when first integrating into the position, however permanent hours will be given.

About the Role: A fantastic opportunity has become available for a permanent part time cook looking to work within a supportive and positive environment, where you will

- Prepare morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea based on a 4 week rotating menu
- Ensure food safety & hygiene is maintained at all times when handling, preparing and storing food and drinks




- Ensure that meals meet the dietary requirements of children with allergies or cultural food restrictions
- Order food and supplies within allocated centre budget to cater for the menu of the week
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, children & their families

The successful candidate will ideally have:

- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (desirable or willing to obtain)
- Relevant qualifications in hospitality/nutrition such as commercial cookery, food handling, food allergens or menu planning would be advantageous
- Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain
- Good communication skills
- Good time management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Previous experience in a similar role desirable – childcare or aged care
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care would be desirable but not mandatory
