We are looking for a passionate and nurturing Cook to join our team and become an important part of our children’s learning experiences.

At our centre, food is more than just a meal. We love creating opportunities for children to develop a positive relationship with food through cooking experiences, exploring new ingredients, creating recipes together and learning where food comes from.

At Ballykin, the safety, wellbeing and voice of every child is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating an environment where children feel safe, respected, heard and empowered.

We believe that every member of our team plays an important role in creating a child-safe workplace, including our Cook. Our Cook is encouraged to build positive and respectful relationships with children while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and following our child safety policies and procedures.

We are looking for someone who:

- Has a genuine interest in working alongside children and being part of their learning experiences.
- Enjoys involving children in age-appropriate cooking experiences and creating recipes together.




- Understands the importance of child safety and wellbeing and is committed to maintaining a child-safe environment at all times.
- Has an understanding of appropriate professional boundaries when interacting with children.
- Is happy to share their knowledge, culture and passion for food with our children and educators.
- Values healthy, nutritious and enjoyable meals and takes pride in creating food that children love.
- Enjoys being part of a warm, collaborative early childhood team.

Our ideal Cook will see the kitchen as an extension of our learning environment — a place where children can explore, experiment, create, connect and develop lifelong healthy relationships with.
