About the Role
Lead a busy Emergency Department managing approximately 27,000 presentations annually. This role combines clinical practice with departmental leadership, including governance, service development, education and workforce growth. Approximately 20-25 hours per week is dedicated to leadership responsibilities. Suitable for FACEMs passionate about training, accreditation and service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Emergency Department and medical team
- Deliver expert emergency care
- Drive clinical governance and quality initiatives
- Oversee training, supervision and education programs
- Support service development and accreditation
- Participate in the on-call roster
Essential Criteria
- AHPRA Specialist Registration in Emergency Medicine (FACEM)
- Recent specialist ED experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Commitment to teaching, quality improvement and patient safety
- Ability to participate in on-call requirements
