About the role

Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join to join Ward 7East - Geriatric Medicine in a maximum term part time 32 hours per week until June 2027.

The Geriatric Medical Team specialises in supporting older adults through complex health journeys, offering multidisciplinary care tailored to the unique needs of ageing populations. Working with the Allied Health Team, focusing on restoration of physical and cognitive functioning or prevention of further functional decline with view to determining discharge destination and improved outcomes for older people.

Salary range: $57.48 - $61.55 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

- Coordinate safe, effective and holistic patient care using advanced clinical skills, evidence-based practice and strong care-planning capability
- Lead and support the team by providing clinical guidance, role-modelling professional standards and mentoring less experienced staff
- Collaborate closely with medical, nursing and allied health colleagues to achieve optimal patient outcomes,



smooth care transitions and effective discharge planning
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives, uphold quality and safety standards and support the operational needs of the ward when delegated by the NUM

About you

- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum of three years’ recent experience in a relevant clinical specialty
- Tertiary qualification in a clinical specialty (postgraduate studies in progress or completed highly regarded)
- Solid interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, mentorship and support to nursing colleagues
