Advanced Oral and Maxillofacial Day Surgery (AOMS) is a growing private day hospital located on Angas Street in the Adelaide CBD. We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse – Perioperative to support the delivery of safe, efficient and person-centred care across our perioperative services.

The opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager /Chief Operations Officer, the Clinical Nurse – Perioperative will provide day-to-day clinical coordination and support across admissions, operating theatres, post-anaesthetic care, recovery, discharge and sterile services.

You will be a visible and approachable clinical resource during operating lists, helping nursing teams coordinate patient flow, respond to changing clinical priorities and maintain high standards of care.

AOMS is a facility that caters for patients from 14 Years old and Above . Demonstrated perioperative training, recent experience and current clinical competency are therefore essential requirements of the role.

Your focus will include

- coordinating daily perioperative workflow and supporting safe, productive patient flow;
- acting as a senior clinical resource for nursing staff across admissions, theatre, recovery and discharge;
- supporting clinical handover, allocation of nursing resources and appropriate skill mix during operating lists;
- reviewing operating lists and identifying clinical risks, delays, equipment requirements or other matters requiring escalation;
- supporting the recognition, escalation and response to clinical deterioration and emergencies;
- promoting compliance with infection prevention and control requirements;
- supporting the day-to-day oversight of CSSD, sterile stock, equipment and instrument readiness;
- contributing to clinical audits, quality improvement, incident review and implementation of the NSQHS Standards; and
- working collaboratively with the practice manager on scheduling, equipment, maintenance, stock, supplies and operational matters,



while escalating clinical decisions and risks to the GM/COO

About you You will be an experienced Registered Nurse with substantial perioperative experience across operating theatres and recovery. You are clinically confident, organised and calm under pressure, with the ability to support colleagues and coordinate competing priorities in a busy procedural environment.

You understand the importance of clinical governance, clear communication and reliable systems. Just as importantly, you bring an approachable and collaborative leadership style and are willing to work alongside the team to ensure patients receive safe, efficient and compassionate care.

We are particularly interested in candidates who bring:

- current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA;
- substantial recent perioperative nursing experience, including operating theatre and recovery;
- current Advanced Life Support competency;
- sound knowledge of infection prevention and control, sterile services and CSSD requirements;
- experience contributing to NSQHS accreditation, clinical audit, incident review or quality-improvement activities;
- strong clinical judgement, leadership, communication and coordination skills; and
- the ability to identify clinical risk, respond appropriately and escalate concerns promptly.
