We're excited to welcome a Clinical Nurse Theatre to our unit, Operating Suite Gympie, Gympie Hospital.

The role involves engagement in the clinical roles of circulating nurse, scrub/instrument nurse, anaesthetic nurse, PACU I & II as well as admissions and preadmission. The role also includes team leadership and team support. The scrub, scout and anaesthetic nurse roles involve an on-call commitment. An interest in a portfolio either as primary or secondary holder is an expectation.

The unit provides elective surgery for general surgery, gynaecology, obstetrics, ENT & Dental (both adults and paediatrics), and endoscopy. Emergency surgery is predominantly obstetrics, gynaecology and general surgery. The central sterilising unit is part of the overall service provision.

Key Responsibilities include:

Practice in accordance with code of ethics, skilled standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.

This position requires you to adhere to National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and the Sunshine Coast Health Safe Care Framework, which has been developed in collaboration with staff, consumers and key stakeholders to enable our vision of health and wellbeing through person-centred care.

Remuneration value up to $103 107 p.a, comprising salary rates $57.76 - $61.85 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Clinical Nurse, Nurse Grade 6(1)) (Permanent Part-Time, 56hrs p.f.) Applications will remain current for 12 months.
