The primary focus of this engagement is to support the current capability requirements of the SSN‑AUKUS Program Integration Branch.
The Combat Systems Specialist will strengthen the programs under the Combat Systems Directorate by providing specialist engineering leadership and independent technical judgement for complex, high-risk, safety-critical combat systems.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and assure the design, integration, verification, and configuration of combat system elements across submarine platforms and related enabling systems
- Provide leadership and participation in combat system reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR or equivalent)
- Deliver combat system assurance and technical compliance reports
- Conduct Safety-in-Design and system safety assessments, including hazard identification and risk mitigation
- Provide independent, authoritative technical advice to governance and assurance forums
- Ensure combat system designs meet capability, interoperability, cyber resilience, and safety requirements, aligned with Australian Defence and partner-nation standards across all lifecycle phases
- Assured, integrated combat system designs suitable for safety-critical submarine operations;
- Reduced technical, integration, safety, and interoperability risk;
- Increased combat system maturity aligned with program milestones; and
