The Fox Hole is an independently owned bar and kitchen serving modern British food in The Rocks. Alongside our everyday menu, we host Gin & Tea afternoons, private events and five-course Discovery Dinners - giving you plenty of variety and opportunities to learn.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Cook or Commis Chef who takes pride in their work and wants to grow with us. You’ll work alongside Henry, our Senior Sous Chef, with hands-on mentoring, practical feedback and more responsibility as your confidence develops.

The role

- Prepare, cook and plate dishes across regular service and special events.
- Build your skills in timing, presentation and kitchen organisation.
- Contribute to specials and menu trials as you develop.
- Maintain food safety, cleanliness and stock rotation.

About you You have some commercial kitchen experience, whether through employment or training, and you’re curious, reliable and willing to learn.



You take feedback well, enjoy working in a team and can work evenings and weekends.

Cookery qualifications are highly regarded but not a requirement of the role.

What we offer

Direct mentoring, varied cooking and room to develop within a small, supportive team. Salary is $65,000-$70,000, depending on experience and qualifications, with additional payments where required to meet award entitlements.
