The Regional Australia Institute (RAI) is seeking a strategic and experienced Communications & Advocacy Manager to lead our media, communications and advocacy efforts and help amplify the research, insights and ideas influencing Australia's regional future.

RAI is Australia’s only independent think tank dedicated to advancing the interests of regional Australia. We are a purpose-driven organisation with a large membership network spanning more than 1,000 towns nationwide.

Our ambitious agenda is delivered by a small, dedicated team that works tirelessly to achieve our goals and serve regional Australia. Our people are central to our success and make a meaningful difference.

In this role, you'll:

- Lead RAI's communications and media strategy.
- Translate research and policy insights into compelling stories and advocacy campaigns.
- Build strong relationships with media,



government and key stakeholders.
- Support the CEO with speeches, presentations, thought leadership and executive communications.
- Drive communications for major reports, partnerships and events, including Regions Rising.
- Adaptable working arrangements offered including hybrid working in Canberra or remotely from anywhere in Australia.

What you'll bring

- Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills.
- Media relations, public affairs or advocacy experience.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capabilities.
- The ability to translate complex research into engaging content.
