Temporary Contract | Full-Time or Part-Time | Raymond Terrace
We are seeking a Communications Project Officer to join our client's team on a temporary contract through to February 2027.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in administration, executive support, communications or project coordination who is looking to broaden their experience within Council.
Reporting directly to the Communications & Customer Experience Section Manager, you will provide high-level administrative and project-based support to the Section Manager and Coordinators across the section.
About the role
You will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of communications projects, while providing solid administrative and executive support.
Key responsibilities will include
- Providing diary management and administrative support to the Section Manager
- Preparing section business papers, reports and relevant documentation
- Coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and taking minutes
- Assisting with the collation of monthly data and reporting
- Coordinating communications and other projects from planning through to completion
- Maintaining project plans, timelines, systems views and other project documentation
- Assisting with the development and distribution of communications content across various channels
- Supporting communications initiatives, campaigns and projects
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and external partners to gather information and coordinate requirements
- Assisting with newsletters, fact sheets, presentations and other communications materials
- Maintaining accurate records, files and data
- Supporting the monitoring and reporting of project progress and outcomes
What we're looking for
We are seeking someone who can demonstrate:
- A qualification in administration, project management, communications, marketing or a related discipline is advantageous
- Demonstrated experience as an Executive Assistant, Project Officer, Administrator or in a similar role, ideally supporting senior positions
- Experience coordinating or managing projects
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence working with systems and documentation
- The ability to work collaboratively and liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- The ability to work in a busy environment, prioritise a high workload and meet deadlines
- A proactive approach with the ability to contribute ideas and identify opportunities for improvement
