Position Objectives The Mallee Family Care Community Legal Centre is seeking a Community Engagement and Legal Education Worker to join our energetic Legal Team, supporting our commitment to access to justice, social justice and human rights. The MFCCLC serves the Northern and Southern Mallee of Victoria, South-West New South Wales and Far West NSW.

The MFCCLC NSW program provides free legal information, advice and casework to people living in Broken Hill LGA, Central Darling LGA and the Unincorporated Area of Far West NSW. We provide a range of generalist, family law, family violence prevention and other legal services, as well as duty lawyer services at the Broken Hill Local Court. Our legal education and outreach services to the communities of Wilcannia, Menindee, Ivanhoe,



Tibooburra and White Cliffs aim to support greater awareness of legal rights and access to services across Far West NSW.

In collaboration with the MFCCLC Legal Team, the Community Engagement and Legal Education Worker is responsible for connecting and engaging with community stakeholders, developing strong referral pathways, and delivering community legal education sessions on key topics. The role works closely with the Manager, Principal Solicitor and with community engagement and legal education staff from other sites to support effective service delivery and respond to the legal needs of residents across Far West NSW.

The role will contribute to building strong relationships with community organisations, service providers and local communities, identifying barriers to accessing legal assistance and supporting effective outreach and referral pathways. The position will also assist in ensuring that community legal education and engagement activities are accessible, responsive and informed by local community needs.

Extensive travel within our catchment area and at times all sites is a requirement of the position.

Part Time (0.5 EFT) Fixed Term until 30 June 2030

This position has a salary range of $95,589 - $113,619 (pro rata)

Desired Skills And Experience

Qualifications and Experience

- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Development, Law or other related discipline.
- At least 3 years’ experience.
- A current driver’s licence and a willingness to travel and preparedness to be accommodated overnight when required.
