About Our Client

Our client is a leading national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting people living with dementia, their families and carers. Through education, advocacy, support services and community engagement, they work to improve quality of life and ensure communities have access to culturally safe and inclusive support.

About the Role

We are seeking a well-connected Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander professional to join a national organisation supporting communities across Alice Springs and Central Australia. Due to specific funding requirements, we are particularly seeking applications from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander men.

Based in Alice Springs, this is a Part Time role, working 3 days per week. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with Elders, community leaders, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, health services and other key stakeholders across the region. Working within community, you will help strengthen awareness of dementia, support culturally safe engagement, build local partnerships and ensure community voices help shape how services are delivered.

This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about community, relationship building and creating positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain trusted relationships with Elders, community leaders, service providers and local organisations.
- Strengthen partnerships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, health services and community stakeholders.
- Increase awareness of dementia and available support services within community.




- Contribute to culturally secure education, awareness and engagement activities.
- Support workforce attraction, recruitment and community capability initiatives.
- Travel throughout Central Australia to engage directly with communities and stakeholders.

What We're Looking For To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Strong relationships and credibility within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Demonstrated experience building trust and maintaining meaningful community relationships.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- An understanding of the social, cultural and historical factors impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Experience in community engagement, community development, community liaison, Aboriginal health, workforce development, local government or similar roles.
- A current driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout Central Australia.

Highly Regarded Experience

- Community engagement and partnership development.
- Working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations or community-based programs.
- Health, community services, family support, youth services or social services experience.
- Working in or alongside remote Aboriginal communities.
- Knowledge or understanding of dementia and related support services.
