As the business continues to grow and relies on secure, reliable and efficient digital systems to support client management, project coordination, communications and day-to-day operations, Vantage is seeking an experienced Computer Network and Systems Engineer to strengthen and maintain its ICT infrastructure.

About the Role The Computer Network and Systems Engineer will be responsible for planning, configuring, maintaining, monitoring and improving Vantage’s network and systems environment. The role is designed around the core functions of ANZSCO 263111 and is tailored to a candidate with hands-on experience across Microsoft environments, network infrastructure, servers, monitoring tools, remote support platforms and technical troubleshooting.

The successful candidate will support Vantage’s business operations by ensuring that network services, user access, servers, cloud-based systems and related infrastructure remain secure, reliable and operationally ready.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Plan, configure, deploy, maintain and optimise computer networks, servers and related systems used across Vantage’s business operations.
- Monitor network infrastructure, system availability, network traffic, capacity utilisation and performance to maintain reliable and efficient services.
- Install and configure network hardware, operating systems, business software, servers and associated ICT infrastructure.
- Configure, maintain and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, VPN and wireless network environments.
- Administer routers, switches, servers and other network devices and ensure they operate at appropriate performance and availability levels.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network connectivity, hardware, software and systems issues using structured troubleshooting techniques.
- Administer Microsoft Active Directory, including users, groups, permissions, policies, authentication and access controls.
- Manage and support Microsoft 365, Microsoft Exchange, SCCM and Microsoft Intune environments.
- Maintain file servers, print servers, application servers, DNS servers, virtual servers and cloud-based systems.
- Use network monitoring and remote-management tools to identify faults,



performance issues and service interruptions and take corrective action.
- Evaluate existing network and systems infrastructure and recommend improvements to hardware, software, communications systems and operating environments.
- Test system changes, software deployments, network upgrades and related updates, including debugging, tracking, logging and resolving identified problems.
- Monitor system and network logs and respond to operational, security and performance issues where required.
- Support backup, recovery and business-continuity arrangements for critical company systems and information.
- Maintain secure user access and appropriate permissions across company systems and network resources.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, network records, system procedures, configuration records, operational guides and maintenance instructions.
- Liaise with management and staff to identify technology requirements and provide practical network and systems solutions that support business operations.
- Provide advanced technical support for network and systems incidents and assist team members with escalated technical issues.
- Assist with the implementation of current infrastructure and technology solutions as Vantage’s project and business operations expand.
- Maintain the operational readiness, security, reliability and performance of the organisation’s ICT environment.

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, Information Systems or a closely related discipline.
- Relevant professional experience in computer networking, systems administration, infrastructure support or a closely related ICT position.




- Demonstrated experience identifying and resolving computer hardware, software and network problems.
- Strong practical knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, VPN and wireless networking technologies.
- Experience configuring and maintaining routers, switches, servers and related network infrastructure.
- Experience administering Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft-based network environments.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Exchange, SCCM and Microsoft Intune.
- Experience working with file servers, application servers, virtual servers and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience using network monitoring, remote-management and ticketing platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prepare and maintain technical procedures, system documentation and operational records.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Candidate Profile This role is particularly suited to a candidate with experience monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure, resolving network and systems faults, managing Windows-based environments and user access, testing system changes, monitoring traffic and capacity, and documenting technical procedures. Experience with ServiceNow, SolarWinds N-Central, TeamViewer, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft 365/Exchange, SCCM, Intune, routers, switches and server environments will be highly regarded.
