Do you enjoy working with people, building relationships and making a positive difference in your community? Binarri-binyja yarrawoo (BBY) is seeking a Connected Beginnings Community Engagement Worker to support Aboriginal children, families and communities across the East Kimberley.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an Aboriginal-led organisation and play a hands-on role in helping families connect with services, participate in community activities and support children to have the best start in life.

Whether you already have community experience or are looking to grow your skills, BBY will provide training, mentoring and opportunities for professional development.

About the Role

As a Connected Beginnings Community Engagement Worker, you will work directly with Aboriginal families, carers, Elders, community members and local service providers to strengthen access to early childhood, health, education and family support services. You will help build strong community connections and ensure local voices and priorities are heard and reflected in programs and activities.

Key aspects of the role include:

- Building positive relationships with families and communities
- Supporting community engagement activities, workshops and events
- Helping families access information, services and opportunities
- Gathering community feedback and sharing local priorities
- Supporting community-led activities and initiatives

- Assisting with program administration




- Working collaboratively with service providers and community organisations
- Promoting culturally safe and inclusive engagement practices

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for supporting Aboriginal children, families and communities
- Builds strong and respectful relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
- Has good communication and interpersonal skills
- Enjoys community engagement and working as part of a team
- Is organised, reliable and willing to learn
- Has a positive attitude and commitment to community-led change

Experience working, volunteering or participating in community activities will be highly regarded, but we also welcome applications from people with strong community connections and a willingness to learn.
