Position Overview As a Construction Ganger you will be an integral part of our construction and maintenance team, working closely with the Overseer and other team members to ensure the efficient and protected execution of worksite activities. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance that our organisation upholds.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate worksite activities in compliance with WH&S;, Risk, and Environmental regulations.
- Operate plant and equipment efficiently and safely, adhering to relevant laws and Council policies.
- Ensure timely completion of costing sheets following Council procedures.
- Implement and monitor roadwork environmental and quality controls.
- Erect and maintain traffic control devices during construction and maintenance operations.
- Report accidents or injuries promptly and complete necessary paperwork.
- Perform various work duties, including manual tasks and traffic control as needed.
- Maintain a diary of works and report any difficulties promptly.
- Ensure all plant items are maintained in roadworthy condition through regular checks.
- Supervise contractors on-site and ensure they have the necessary licenses and permits.
- Maintain strong communication and teamwork within the department.

Essential Criteria

- Successful completion of Year 10 or equivalent
- Traffic Control Ticket
- Working knowledge of construction and maintenance procedures, including unsealed and sealed road construction, drainage, pavement construction, and earthworks operations
- Levelling and set out skills, plan reading skills, cost estimates, and specifications
- Ability to perform manual labour tasks
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Occupational Health & Safety Workcover General Induction Ticket (White Card)
- Current Class C Driver's License
- Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and Occupational Health and Safety principles
- Ability to coordinate plant and labour efficiently

Desirable Criteria

- Certificate III in Road Construction and Maintenance
- Experience in supervising worksites and contractors
- Loader Ticket
- MR or HR truck license
- Understanding of sediment control and environmental compliance
