Little Bees Childcare is seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook/Chef to join our team.
We are looking for someone who enjoys creating fresh, nutritious and delicious meals for young children and understands the important role healthy food plays in supporting children’s growth, health, wellbeing and development.
About the Role
As our Centre Cook/Chef, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing nutritious morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for children using a 4-week rotating menu.
- Catering for children with allergies, special dietary requirements and cultural preferences.
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, food storage and preparation.
- Ordering and managing food supplies and coordinating food deliveries.
- Working collaboratively with the Centre Manager to develop and maintain a healthy, balanced and nutritious menu.
- Maintaining accurate records relating to food preparation, temperatures and dietary requirements.
- Creating a positive and enjoyable mealtime experience for children.
- Building positive relationships with children, families and educators.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a relevant qualification in Hospitality, Commercial Cookery, Nutrition or Early Childhood Education.
- Has previous experience in a similar cooking role, preferably within an early childhood setting.
- Has experience with menu planning and managing dietary requirements and allergies.
- Holds a current Working with Children Check.
- Holds a current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
- Holds a current First Aid Certificate.
- Is passionate about preparing healthy and nutritious meals for children.
- Is organised, reliable and able to work independently.
- Has a positive attitude and enjoys being part of a supportive team.
- Is committed to creating a warm, welcoming and nurturing environment for children.
