Touch of India is looking for an experienced and reliable Chef or Cook to join our team across our Brisbane locations. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Indian food, works well in a busy kitchen workplace, and can consistently maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a range of Indian dishes, including curries, rice dishes and other menu items
- Prepare ingredients and complete daily food preparation
- Follow recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards
- Maintain consistent food quality and taste
- Manage food preparation during busy service periods
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen
- Follow food safety, workplace health and safety requirements
- Minimise food waste and assist with food cost control
- Work closely with other kitchen and front-of-house team members
About you
- Has previous experience working as a Chef or Cook, preferably with Indian cuisine
- Has good knowledge of Indian cooking and food preparation
- Can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Is reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
- Takes pride in food quality, cleanliness and presentation
- Has good communication and organisational skills
- Is available to work a flexible roster, including weekends and evenings when required
