Western Downs Digital Park
Western Downs Digital Park is a major new hyperscale data centre campus at Kogan in Queensland. Planned across multiple delivery phases, it brings together AI-ready data centres, energy infrastructure and a purpose-built campus environment. This is an opportunity to help shape the technical foundations of a critical new digital infrastructure asset from the ground up.
The role The Design Manager – Electrical will lead electrical design management and quality assurance for Western Downs Digital Park, translating project requirements into coordinated, compliant and buildable electrical design outcomes. You will act as the electrical subject matter expert through design reviews, technical assurance and delivery-stage resolution.
Working across Zerra DC's multidisciplinary engineering team and external consultants, you will maintain technical standards, manage critical interfaces and help improve electrical performance, resilience, constructability and whole-of-life value.
What you will lead
- Electrical design management and QA/QC assurance across the WDDP programme.
- Design reviews, technical audits and the close-out of discrepancies, missing information and interface risks.
- Coordination with mechanical, high-voltage, controls, energy storage, civil, structural, architectural and life-safety disciplines.
- Electrical input into project gates, design maturity reviews, technical decisions and risk management.
- Engagement with electrical consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal delivery workstreams.
- Evaluation of design, product and vendor improvements that enhance resilience, buildability and whole-of-life cost.
What you will bring
You will be an experienced electrical engineer or design manager with the technical depth to challenge designs and the practical judgement to drive issues to resolution. Experience in data centres, mission-critical facilities or comparable large-scale industrial infrastructure will be key.
- At least 10 years of electrical design or design-management experience.
- Strong capability across power distribution, resilience, redundancy, protection, earthing, standby power and building-services interfaces.
- Working knowledge of relevant Australian codes, standards and grid-connection requirements.
- Strong design-assurance, problem-solving and stakeholder-management capability.
- Commercial awareness of electrical vendors, major cost drivers and the Australian construction market.
- An Electrical Engineering qualification; chartership and professional registration are preferred.

You will join WDDP early enough to shape its electrical design standards and influence decisions that will carry through multiple delivery phases. It is a hands-on client-side role at the centre of a technically complex, high-profile Queensland development.
