About us The Catholic Diocese of Lismore extends across 22 parishes, ranging from Tweed Heads in the north to Laurieton in the south. Our Chancery provides support services throughout the Diocese, supporting parish communities and a diverse range of ministries including health, education, aged and community care.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a creative and collaborative Digital Media & Design Officer (part-time 3 days per week, up to 12 months contract) to join our Communications Team. You will play a crucial role in supporting the Diocese’s faith-based communications through inspiring storytelling, videography, graphic design, and content management across our channels.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and produce engaging video content from initial concept to final delivery, including graphics, sound, and post-production editing.
- Design static graphics, digital assets, print flyers, and promotional materials.
- Recommend digital content for communications campaigns and diocesan ministries.
- Adhere to the Diocese’s brand guidelines, best practice design principles and compliance with organisational communications requirements.
- Coordinate requests from internal and external stakeholders, translating complex concepts into transparent, engaging visual content.
- Work collaboratively across project teams, Diocesan initiatives and with suppliers and service providers as required.
- Support the publishing of content across the Diocese’s communications platforms as required (e.g. website, social media, intranet).
About you
- A respect for the values and sacred traditions of the Catholic Church.
- Relevant tertiary qualification (graphic design, communications, screen/media) or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in videography,
video editing software, post-production, and graphic design tools.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, digital content management systems, and social media platforms.
- An approachable, clear, and proactive communications style with exceptional time-management skills.
- A current Class C Drivers Licence and willingness to travel across the diocese to capture content.
