Role Description The Diploma of Beauty Trainer/Assessor is a permanent part-time, in office position based in Penrith, NSW. The role involves planning, delivering, and assessing Diploma-level beauty therapy units in line with accredited training packages and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include preparing lesson plans and learning resources, facilitating engaging practical and theory classes, and conducting assessments to ensure learners meet competency standards.

The Trainer/Assessor will provide constructive feedback, maintain accurate student records, and participate in moderation and validation activities to support quality outcomes. The role also includes mentoring learners, contributing to course development and improvement, and collaborating with colleagues to maintain a safe, inclusive, and skilled training environment.

Qualifications requirements

- Relevant vocational qualification in Beauty Therapy (Diploma SHB50121)




- Training and assessment credentials (e.g., Certificate IV in Training and Assessment) and familiarity with competency-based training.

The successful applicant will have:

- Current industry experience and a minimum of three years relevant industry and post qualification involvement in a commercial salon or spa settings.
- Robust skills in lesson planning, classroom delivery, and practical demonstration of beauty treatments and techniques.
- A commitment to maintaining professional currency
- A can-do attitude providing quality customer service
- A demonstrated ability to complete Assessments and documentation, including developing assessment tools, marking work, and maintaining accurate learner records.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills, with the ability to support diverse learners in a respectful, inclusive manner.
- Organizational and time-management skills to coordinate classes, assessments, and administrative tasks effectively to set deadlines, and in line with company policies and procedures
- Ability to work collaboratively within a training team, respond to feedback, and contribute to continuous improvement of programs.
- Understanding of compliance requirements for Registered Training Organisations, including WHS and quality assurance processes.
- Proficiency with basic digital tools used in education (e.g., LMS platforms, email, document editors) and willingness to adapt to new technologies.
- Current working rights in Australia and any required clearances, and a current Working With Children Check. (WWCC) clearance
- A passion for teaching and can demonstrate a commitment to high quality training outcomes
- A passion to see others succeed in the hair and beauty industry
